Photography has been part of Dave's life since he won a 35mm camera while attending grade school in Normal, IL. Camera Club in junior high led to school newspaper and yearbook work during high school. At Illinois Wesleyan University he was again a photographer for both the newspaper and yearbook, as well as working with a friend to photograph campus social events.
After graduation he took his first professional newspaper job in Champaign, IL, and two years later he joined the staff of the New Castle, PA News. While there, he met and married his wife Cindy, another News staffer. They purchased The Messenger, a semi-weekly paper in Plainfield, IN, and published it until returning to Pennsylvania in 1985.
His studio now shares quarters with Atlas Printing Co., a commercial shop owned by Cindy. And, coming full circle, Dave now does work for two area high school year books and the local newspaper in addition to his commercial and portrait clients.
If he isn't shooting photos, Dave is probably playing his trumpet with the Somerset County Community Band, or reffing an AYSO game.
